Ancient History
At what price wisdom?
A rediscovered library on an abandoned island sets off a political battle of wills. On one side are the powerful and entrenched Curators, who filter and preserve. On the other side are the upstart Historians, who want to find and share forgotten wisdom.
Ayef is a determined student with a magical talent for copying text. She was destined to become a Curator, but her real passion is solving history’s puzzles. She takes a chance to enlist with the Historians and is sent on a secret mission to the ancient library where she discovers friendship, love, and dangerous secrets.

“An intriguing and thought-provoking story, with strong world-building and a compelling narrative. Ayef [is] a tenacious, brave, and principled character… determined and focused on completing her mission throughout, despite her growing feelings for [beautiful co-apprentice] Ori. The Orwellian element to the story debates whether the past should be fully accessible or strictly monitored and controlled. Are the Curators protecting or oppressing the people?” - Stephen Black, author of The Famine Witch
